  1. I think it's a whatever-they-want it to be kind of thing. To me, LDS itself is not Christianity, it's a cult branch of Christianity. They're literally money laundering with a church storefront to dress up their creep factor.

  2. It's not just an LDS thing to read about near death and be peppers. Fundamentist Protestants do it too. The LDS church will let excommunicated people be baptized and come back if they refute their "heresy".

  3. The imposed fear of death and subsequent penalties thereof is enforced, starting with seven year olds baptism interviews with the Bishop that includes the obligatory masterbation inquisition that they all insist is a sin next to murder. The mindf@ck is real and devastatingly toxic. It's no wonder Mormon kids are committing suicide at abysmally higher levels than the rest of the United States.
Banning infant and child baptisms and confessions/Bishops interviews of minors because religious institutions refuse to report child abuse. That's why they require a "come to Jesus" taxation that Jesus himself insisted along with millstone drownings, and all I see for a thousand miles is dry pedophiles.

  4. The “dark/light” rating is a Chad Daybell original BS concept. As much as I know about the LDS church as I was raised in it and as much as I do NOT like it I can say the “dark/light” ratings are made up by Chad.

  5. It’s definitely not an LDS thing. You just refuse to believe that. There are reasons these people are excommunicated and it is because they are into all sorts of things that the faith does not teach and does not believe. Get over your hate for an entire group of people because of the disgusting actions of those who called themselves LDS but murdered children.

  6. I hate seeing this being simplified in many ways to blaming the LDS church and its people. Any psycho can take any scripture or theology from any religion and twist it so they can manipulate others and get what they want.
Bishops aren’t psychics or mind readers and can’t “know” what people are doing when they aren’t a part of it. People, are generally excommunicated based on evidence, not based on what they do secretly that nobody knows about. Most people in this world are good but some are horrible, regardless of which religion they were born into or choose to participate in.
I also think it’s important to keep in mind that Rexburg is 95% LDS and therefore, not all but many of the people involved in investigating, arresting and prosecuting Chad & Lori ARE LDS. I believe the exceptional work that went into this case shows a high level of ethics, decency, integrity, team work & and “we’re not going to give up” until we can have justice for Tylee, JJ and Tammy. The actions of those involved in bringing justice speak more to the types of values taught weekly in the LDS Church than the twisted interpretations of C&L.

  7. I was raised LDS, been out ten years. There is sort of this ideology of light and dark. It comes into play a few ways but I’ll focus on the way that makes sense here. I was always told that when you’re LDS people could see the light from your countenance and there was this idea of dark countenances when you were being unrighteous. But as for mainstream belief that’s about where that stops. The dark and light scale with numbers and zombies was absolutely not something I ever learned and falls into more extreme beliefs that haven’t been taught by the LDS church.

Now that being said there was the doctrine of Blood Atonement as well which was primarily in play in the early years of the religion. Basically that the spilling of someone’s blood for certain sins was the only way to cleanse them of that sin and for them to repent. There wasn’t the direct elements of light and dark found in that doctrine however it’s kind of implied imo.

Basically, yes light and dark is an LDS teaching but not the extent Lori and Chad took it
